Tennis Auckland Player of the Year Artem Sitak is through to the quarter-finals of the doubles at Wimbledon. Sitak and his partner Divij Sharan recovered from two sets down to win in five sets against Jonathan Erlich and Marcin Matkowski 1-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. This is the second match in a row the pair have come back from a two set deficit. It is the first time in Sitak’s career that he has advanced to the last eight stage of a Grand Slam event.
Not to be outdone, Mike Venus and his partner Raven Klaasen beat Sousa and Mayer in a tough five setter to earn a quarter-final spot against Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares. Sitak and his partner face Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the next round.
