OCTOBER JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

This is a regional Tier 3 tournament part of the TNZ Junior Masters Point Race

Tournament Dates	10U age group 2nd, 3rd, 4th October 2022 – Singles and Doubles (10’s Matches are played with green dot balls and are outdoors only due to other events at the centre) All other ages 8th, 9th, 10th  October 2022 – Singles Only 11th October – Doubles Only

This tournament is open to all junior players up to and including 16 years old. Players must meet the age group requirements at 31 October 2022

Tournament Format:

Singles – All Players should enter their age group and boys and girls draws will be made up as follows based on players singles grades:

For this tournament we are continuing a way of grouping players with the goal of giving players a chance to go up from their grade by playing a qualifying section first. We still want to maintain the groupings that will lead to even match ups in graded draws as far as possible.

For 10U there is no change to the way we do the draw – all players will be in the same boys or girls draw.

For all other ages we will have an age group main draw of 16 players and the top ranked 12 players will be direct entries to this draw. The next 8 players will compete in a qualifying draw for the 4 qualifier places to make up the 16. The 4 players who don’t qualify will go into the first division 8 person draw along with the 4 players who qualify from the next 8 player qualifying draw and this pattern will repeat down the ranking list to encompass all the players in the age group. This will give all players a chance to jump ahead of their immediate ranking group on the qualifying day of the tournament. (Numbers in each draw level may vary depending on numbers entered and rankings)

Doubles – Players should enter their singles age group in doubles, and this should be the same as their partner. If you nominate a partner, please be sure that they have agreed to play with you.

Note: 10’s Rankings will be based on the 15th Sept Points fie and other ages will use the Sept 30th Points file.
