Tennis has never been this much fun!
Tennis Hot Shots launches in New Zealand today (October 14th). Tennis Hot Shots is just for kids. Children learn to play on the right size court using racquets that are perfect for small hands and softer, super-hittable balls that don’t bounce too high.
Made up of four major components, Tennis Hot Shots gives children the opportunity to play tennis in an environment and at a level that suits them.
1. Tennis Hot Shots Schools – Primary aged children are introduced to the game of tennis through a four week taster program led by a trained deliverer.
2. Tennis Hot Shots Coaching – Tennis Hot Shots coaching sessions are run by qualified and Tennis New Zealand registered coaches. Our coaches teach kids to play in fun, supportive and interactive sessions. Tennis Hot Shots coaching sessions can be one-on-one or in a group.
3. Tennis Hot Shots Community Play – Community Play is an exciting new program for clubs. Community Play can be run by club volunteers, parents or guardians or coaches. It is a play based program which gives all children the opportunity to play in a fun, supportive environment. Tennis clubs all across New Zealand can be part of Tennis Hot Shots, regardless of size, location and whether or not they have the services of a professional coach.
4. Tennis Hot Shots Tournaments – An inspiring competitive environment in which children can compete at a level that is right for them. The tournament component will be launched in New Zealand in 2014.
Tennis New Zealand CEO Steve Johns says “This exciting participation program provides a consistent, fun and safe tennis experience for all New Zealand kids aged 3 – 12. We are thrilled to welcome over 120 coaches and clubs from all over NZ to the Tennis Hot Shots team.
This program has really brought together all those people who are passionate about growing the game of tennis, encouraging more kids in to the sport, and providing a quality tennis experience for all those involved.
We are excited to see the program go from strength to strength over the coming years and would like to acknowledge the support of Tennis Australia who own Tennis Hot Shots and have been instrumental in helping this world class program launch in New Zealand.”
