ALERT LEVEL 3.1 | Update 6 October

Following recently updated advise from the Government we can now confirm the following guidelines for tennis in the Auckland region under Level 3 – Stage 1.

Return to Tennis

  • 2 households and up to 10 people can meet to play together outside only.
  • Professional coaches can return to work and deliver lessons outside only.
    • Lessons can take place with a maximum of 10 people. This includes the coach.
    • Players do not have to be in the same household to participate, and everyone should stay 2 metres apart.
  • If players cannot be kept 2m apart then group numbers should be reduced accordingly
  • Face coverings are encouraged whilst not playing or having a lesson

Covid-19 guidelines and more details of Tennis in the Auckland region can be found on the Tennis NZ website.   Please note that, at this time, regular Alert Level 3 (in some parts of Waikato) remains the same.

Tennis Auckland Facilities

Scarbro Tennis Centre will be open for play on outdoor courts only from 9.00am on Thursday 7 October.
Online bookings must be made and can be done via the Scarbro Tennis Centre page 
Evening floodlights will not be available.

Manukau Tennis Sports & Community Centre will be open for play on outdoor courts only from 9.00am on Thursday 7 October.
Online bookings must be made and can be done via the MTSCC page
Evening floodlights will be available and are automated with evening bookings. 

Nicholson Park Tennis Centre will be open for play from 9.00am on Thursday 7 October.

No bookings are required for casual play – courts are available on a first come first served basis. Please ensure you maintain 2m distance within your own group and from other groups.

Evening floodlights will not be available.

In all cases there will be no indoor access or changing facilities. Toilets are available at, or near the venue.

Please be mindful of risk regarding high touch areas such as gates, nets, benches and toilets or tennis gates, and take all reasonable precautions to keep yourself and others safe.   For more information on how to stay safe while playing tennis please click here
