Named after the first Mayor of Mount Eden, Oliver Nicholson, this park is one of five public recreation reserves in Mt Eden. It caters for organised sports, and is in two sections, bisected by Poronui Street.

Nicholson Park has 6 Astro grass courts and is open year round for public use.

Tennis Auckland currently offers Tennis Xpress classes at Nicholson Park.
