The Tennis Auckland Board are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Rohan West as the new CEO of Tennis Auckland, effective 5 July 2021.
West brings a strong commercial background to the organisation, having had a number of roles leading sporting and other organisations, including most recently as the CEO of Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty.
West has a passion for sport, and in particular participation, and is looking forward to leading Tennis Auckland as it looks to drive the profile of tennis and activate tennis participation opportunities throughout the Auckland region, as well as developing the network of strategic partnerships.
“I am delighted to be joining the Tennis Auckland team, and to lead a terrific organisation and a great sport in Tamaki Makaurau. The transition to a post Covid-19 environment will have its challenges, but I’m excited by the opportunities to increase the number of people playing tennis, to strengthen our revenue streams and plan for the future editions of the ASB Classic tournaments” said West.
Simon Vannini, Chair of Tennis Auckland, is looking forward to welcoming West in to the role.
“Rohan has the mix of skills the Board was looking for, in combining strong strategic and commercial experience with a clear focus on achieving outcomes, in particular financial outcomes. Tennis, like other sports, has been impacted by Covid-19, and we are looking forward to having Rohan lead our organisation as we look to recover and thrive in this new environment”.
