  • Post category:News

Tennis Auckland Region Inc. is pleased to confirm the appointment of Tracey O’Connor as its independent Safeguarding Officer. As part of its ongoing commitment to participant welfare, Tennis Auckland has been working with Tracey for the past few months to create a safeguarding officer role that matches the needs of our participants, Tracey’s experience and skillset, and the organisation’s requirements.

A widely known and respected player, Tracey had eight-years on the professional circuit, finishing runner-up in two International Tennis Federation doubles events and playing for New Zealand in the Fed Cup in 2001 and 2002. She is still actively involved on Auckland tennis, playing for Pompallier Lawn Tennis Club.

As Safeguarding Officer, Tracey will be the independent point of contact for all aspects related to the Tennis Participation Protection Policy (TPPP) and Whistle-blower Policy, and will work with all Tennis Auckland affiliated tennis clubs to ensure they roll-out the TPPP themselves and have a dedicated safeguarding officer for their members.

Tennis Auckland is delighted to welcome someone with Tracey’s experience, passion and mana to the role.

To contact Tracey on any safeguarding or whistle-blower issue, please contact Tracey directly via email at safeguarding@tennisauckland.co.nz
